A Day in the Life – Nerlyn Jestine

Typical day for a mother of 4, Nurse Practitioner and business owner

RN Student:

5:00am – Wake up, get through the morning sickness and prepare for the day

6:00am – Commuting from Boca Raton, FL to North Miami, FL

7:00am – Arrive at school and study

8:00am – 5:00pm – Lecture

5:00pm – Study group until 10/11pm

11:00pm-2:00am – Go home and study some more

2:00am – Go to bed, wake up and repeat the next day

ARNP Student:

6:00am – Wake up, get myself and Kids ready for the day

8:15am – Drop kids off and head to work

(As a caseworker I was responsible for 13 skilled nursing facilities and 2 hospitals. I set my own schedule and saw about 5 facilities a day)

3:30pm – pick up kids from school and head home

4:30pm – 9:00pm – Depending on the day of the week I was either on a clinical rotation or catching up with my kids, helping with HW and making dinner.

9:00pm-2:00am – Completing school work/Study

2:00am – Go to bed, wake up and repeat the next day
